Akhbar are also known as <em>Hadith<\/em> which has meanings relating to &#8220;news.&#8221; The Quran also uses the word <em>Hadith<\/em> (<strong>\u062d \u062f \u062b<\/strong>) in verses like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&#8220;On that Day, those who denied and disobeyed the Messenger will wish they were reduced to dust. And they will never be able to hide anything (<em>hadithan<\/em>) from God.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;Has there reached you the story (<em>hadithu<\/em>) of Moses?&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Isnads describe which companion or Imam related to which other person <em>ad primus<\/em>. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&#8220;Abu Ja\u2019far Muhammad b. Ya\u2019qub (al-Kulayni) has said: A number of our people of whom one is Muhammad b. Yahya al-\u2018Attar narrated from Ahmad b. Muhammad from Hasan b. Mahbub from al-\u2019Ala b. Razin from Muhammad b.
