  • Introduction to Roman History (1): Caesar is Palpatine

In this first article in the series of Roman History we will consider the meribound similarities between Julius Caesar and Palpatine from the Star Wars universe. The following similarities can be noted:

    • Both Caesar and Palpatine are ambitious political men
    • Both Caesar and Palpatine start in the senate after which they become cancellor or consil
    • Both Caesar and Palpatine have a protegĂ©e in the senate (Brutus and Annakin)
    • Both Caesar and Palpatine assume dictatorial control
    • Both Caesar and Palpatine command armies

  • Lectures of Plato

It is interesting to notice that Plato’s greatest Idea (the male-female hybrids) does not arise from the mouth of Plato himself. (see Symposion). So perhaps there is a Socrates-Plato hybrid in which they are together mastering virtue and dancing in harmonious fashion towards endless nights of imaginal Antartica.

In other words while the Phaedo effectively solves philosophy its knowledge is perpetually lost through culture.

    To be continued deo volente.
