While it is regrettable that his thought was hijacked to further Nazi propaganda it is not unthinkable that concepts like the übermensch – which implicitly affirms the existence of untermensch – are interpreted in ways that further totalitarianist polities.
Nietszche might not have been a Nazi per se but he might have been one de facto.
